The grand daddy of all boarding sports, surfing is at the epicenter of Beach ‘N Boards Fest.
The 2nd Annual Beach ‘N Boards Fest offered up high-level Association of Surfing Professionals-sanctioned men’s and women’s tournaments. The contests were held during the three best days of surf conditions during the festival’s timeframe of March 13-16, 2014.
The 2014 Ron Jon/Vans Jr. Pro was an ASP 2-star event and the richest surf competition on the US East Coast. The event drew all of the best U.S. mainland, Hawaii and Latin American surfers age 20 and under by offering up valuable points toward the surfers’ qualifying for the Junior Pro World Championships in Australia. Cam Richard’s won the men’s contest and a portion of the $20,000.00 total cash purse. Mahina Maeda beat out her competitors in the women’s contest for her portion of the $5,000.00 cash purse. Both events are equally weighted with the ASP.
